Diagnostic Test

CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL
NOTE:
Very low Transmission Fluid level could set this DTC. Be certain the Transmission fluid level is correct before proceeding. If the fluid level is more than 2 quarts low, repair the source of the leak and fill to the proper fluid level. Then, cold soak the vehicle for 8 hours and try to duplicate the DTC.
1. Check the Transmission Fluid level in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  Is the Transmission Fluid at the proper level?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Repair the Transmission for leaks and return Transmission Fluid to the proper level.
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - 948TE 9HP48 .
CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES
1. Disconnect all TCM harness connectors.
2. Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
3. Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
4. Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
  - Proper connector installation.
  - Damaged connector locks.
  - Corrosion.
  - Other signs of water intrusion.
  - Weather seal damage (if equipped).
  - Bent terminals.
  - Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
  - Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
  - Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
  Were any problems found?
  
  Yes
  - Repair connections as necessary.
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - 948TE 9HP48 .
  No
  - Repair Transmission in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to REMOVAL .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - 948TE 9HP48 .
