Ball Joint, Suspension, Lower: Installation

1. Install lower ball joint (2) and three fasteners (1) to the steering knuckle. Tighten fasteners to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

2. Install the lower control arm to the ball joint.
3. Install a NEW  nut (3) attaching lower control arm to ball joint by holding rod end stud stationary while tightening nut with a wrench. Using a crowfoot wrench on a torque wrench, tighten the nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

4. Install the outer tie rod end (1) to the knuckle.

5. Install a NEW  nut (3) attaching outer tie rod to knuckle by holding rod end stud stationary while tightening nut with a wrench. Using a crowfoot wrench on a torque wrench, tighten the nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

6. Install nut (2) securing link to the lower control arm. Tighten the nut the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Perform wheel alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT  .
