Shock Absorber, Suspension: Installation
- Position the shock absorber (2) to the body bracket and install the shock absorber upper bolt (1) and nut. Do not tighten at this time.
- Raise or lower the rear axle using a jack as necessary until the shock absorber lower bolt (2) can be inserted through the axle flange and shock absorber lower mounting eye.
- Install the nut on the shock absorber lower bolt (2). Do not tighten at this time.
- Remove the jack.
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Position the vehicle on an alignment rack/drive-on lift. Raise the lift as necessary to access the rear suspension while keeping the vehicle at curb (riding) height.
- Tighten the shock absorber upper and lower bolt nuts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
