Diagnostic Test

  1. DETERMINE ACTIVE OR STORED DTC 
    NOTE:

    Make sure the battery is fully charged.

    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Using the scan tool, clear the DTCs and operate the vehicle in the manner that the DTC set if possible.
    3. Using the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.

      Is the DTC active or stored?

      ORC - ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 

      • Go To  2

      ORC - STORED DTC 

  2. CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL ACTIVE SWITCH DTCS 
    1. Using the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.

      Are there switch specific DTCs set as active in addition to the current DTC?

      Yes 

      • Repair all other active switch specific DTCs before repairing the current DTC.

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. USE THE SCAN TOOL TO IDENTIFY THE COUPLED CIRCUITS 
    1. Using the scan tool, identify the two or more switch circuits that read SET.

      Are two or more switch circuits DTCs set?

      Yes 

      • Repair the two or more switch circuits for a Switch Circuit Coupling condition.
      • Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .

      No
