Switch, Evaporative Emissions System Monitor: Removal

NOTE:

The Evaporative System Integrity Monitor (ESIM) is located on the vapor canister.

  1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

    1 - Fresh Air Hose
    2 - Wire Harness Connector
    3 - ESIM
  3. Disconnect the ESIM switch wire harness connector.
  4. Remove fresh air hose from ESIM.
    NOTE:

    Clean the area around the ESIM prior to removal.

    1 - Lock Tab
  5. A lock tab is used on the back of the switch. Push lock tab towards switch while rotating switch counterclockwise 1/4 turn for removal.

  6. Remove the ESIM from the EVAP canister.
