Diagnostic Test

ACTIVE DTC
1. Test drive the vehicle making several stops.
2. With the scan tool, select View DTCs.
  Is the DTC Active at this time?
  
  Yes
  - Go to the appropriate diagnostic information
  No
  - Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK THE STOP LAMP SWITCH FOR PROPER CONNECTION TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER ROD
1. Check the brake switch for proper connection at the brake booster rod.
2. Check all retaining clips are connected and not damaged.
  Is the Stop Lamp Switch connected properly?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 3
  No
  - Replace damaged components and the Stop Lamp Switch in accordance with the service information.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE STOP LAMP SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
1. Check the brake switch for proper adjustment.
  Is the Stop Lamp Switch adjusted properly?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Stop Lamp Switch in accordance with the service information.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Adjust the Stop Lamp Switch and retest for active DTC.
