Lower Intake Manifold

  1. Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to QUICK-CONNECT FITTINGS .
  2. Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the intake manifold silencer pad.

  4. The fuel rail does not need to be removed from the lower intake manifold (1) at this time.
  5. Disconnect the fuel rail quick-connect fitting (3). Refer to QUICK-CONNECT FITTINGS .
  6. Disconnect the fuel injector wire harness connectors (2).

  7. Disengage the injection/ignition harness retainer from the cylinder head cover.
  8. Disengage the main wire harness retainer from the rear of the lower intake manifold (3).
  9. Remove and DISCARD  the lower intake manifold attaching bolts (2).
  10. Remove the lower intake manifold (1) with the fuel injectors and fuel rail.
  11. If required, remove the fuel rail and fuel injectors from the lower intake manifold. Refer to RAIL, FUEL, REMOVAL .
