Checking Engine Oil Pressure

- Remove the oil filter and cap. Refer to FILTER, ENGINE OIL, REMOVAL .
- Transfer the oil filter to the oil pressure test adapter or oil pressure test adapter (late version).
(Special tool #2021800090, Adapter, Early Version 3.6L Oil Pressure Test) and (Special tool #2021500090, Adapter, Late Version 3.6L Oil Pressure Test)
NOTE:2013 and earlier model years use the Early Version, 2014 and later model years use the Late Version.
- Install Pressure Gauge to the Oil Pressure Test Adapter.
(Special tool #C-3292A, Gauge, Pressure)
- Install the Oil Pressure Test Adapter to the engine and securely tighten.
- Start and idle the engine. If oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off the engine and consult the Engine Lubrication and Diagnostic Table. Refer to ENGINE LUBRICATION DIAGNOSTIC TABLE .
- Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
- Verify that the engine has acceptable oil pressure. Refer to ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS .
