Horn System (Service Information): Horn: Description
An electromagnetic diaphragm-type horn is standard equipment on this vehicle. A low note trumpet-style horn (1) is secured to a mounting bracket (2). The horn and mounting bracket unit is then secured by a single screw to the outboard side of the right front fender load beam above the right front wheel house splash shield.
The horn includes a single connector insulator (3) with two terminal pins integral to the horn. A dedicated take out and connector of the headlamp and dash wire harness connects the horn to the vehicle electrical system.
The horn and the mounting bracket are factory-tuned as a unit and; therefore, are serviced only as a unit. The horn cannot be adjusted or repaired. If the horn or the mounting bracket is ineffective or damaged, the entire unit must be replaced.
