Swivel Seat

NOTE:

It is not necessary to remove the seat from the vehicle. Rotate the seat as necessary when removing components.

WARNING:

Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat air bags. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Raise the seat to its highest position.
  2. Remove the three screws (1), then the seat belt retractor cover (2).
  3. Remove the side shields. Refer to SIDE SHIELDS, SEAT CUSHION, FRONT, REMOVAL .

  4. Disconnect the front and rear J-strap retainers (1).
  5. Release the side J-strap retainers (2).
  6. Remove the seat cushion cover assembly from the seat frame.

  7. Cut the hog rings and separate the cover (2) from the cushion (1).
