Swivel Seat
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the seat from the vehicle. Rotate the seat as necessary when removing components.
WARNING:
Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat air bags. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.
- Remove the headrest.
- Raise the seat to its highest position.
- Remove the armrest. Refer to ARMREST, FRONT, REMOVAL .
- Remove the side shields. Refer to SIDE SHIELDS, SEAT CUSHION, FRONT, REMOVAL .
- Using a small phillips screwdriver (2), remove the two screws (1) then pull off the lumbar knob (3).
- Remove the seat belt anchor bolt (1).
- Remove the two screws (3) and the seat belt cover (4).
- Open the two seat back zippers (2).
- Release the lower J-clip retainers at the bottom of the cover.
- Lift the seat back cover (2) and remove the cardboard backer (1).
- Release the lower J-clip retainers (1) from the seat frame.
- Squeeze the tabs, and remove the headrest guides (1).
- Lift the cushion assembly from the frame, routing the seat belt out.
- Lift the cover (3), release the hook and loop fasteners (1) and cut the hog rings (2).
