Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
- Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, read and record Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase ABS DTCs.
- Start the engine.
- Press the Electronic Stability Control switch (ESC) on.
- Press the ESC switch off.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the ABS-INTERMITTENT CONDITION TEST. Refer to ABS INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) SWITCH
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the ESC Switch harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the DTC remain active?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Switch in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SWITCH, ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM (ESP), DESCRIPTION .
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
- ESC ON/OFF SENSE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the ABS Module harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage of the (B45) ESC ON/OFF Switch Sense circuit at the ABS Module harness connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (B45) ESC ON/OFF Sense circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Anti-lock Bake System (ABS) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS), REMOVAL .
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
