Integrated Control Unit (ICU): Installation
- Position the ICU into the mounting bracket in the vehicle. Install the ABS ICU mounting bolts and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.CAUTION:
Before installing the ABM harness connector on the ABM, be sure the seal is properly installed in the connector.
- Insert the ABM wiring harness connector (4) into the socket of the ABM and close the lever (3), locking the connector in place.CAUTION:
The brake tubes must be routed to the correct ports. Improper routing can lead to degraded or undesirable system performance including external brake fluid leaks.
- Install the four chassis brake tubes brake tubes at the ICU hydraulic control unit. Tighten the brake tube nuts (1) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the primary and secondary brake tubes (2) at the ICU hydraulic control unit. Tighten the tube nuts to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Install the hydraulic control unit cover (1).
- Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, INSTALLATION .
- Remove brake pedal holding tool.
- Connect negative battery cable (1) on negative battery post.
- Install the battery access cover.
- Hook up the scan tool to initialize the ABM and perform the following:
- Clear any faults.
- Fill the master cylinder to the proper fill level and bleed the base and ABS hydraulic systems. Refer to BLEEDING .
- Check for leaks.
- Perform the ABS Verification Test and road test the vehicle. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
