Integrated Control Unit (ICU): Installation

Position the ICU into the mounting bracket in the vehicle. Install the ABS ICU mounting bolts and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
CAUTION:
Before installing the ABM harness connector on the ABM, be sure the seal is properly installed in the connector.

Insert the ABM wiring harness connector (4) into the socket of the ABM and close the lever (3), locking the connector in place.
CAUTION:
The brake tubes must be routed to the correct ports. Improper routing can lead to degraded or undesirable system performance including external brake fluid leaks.
Install the four chassis brake tubes brake tubes at the ICU hydraulic control unit. Tighten the brake tube nuts (1) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the primary and secondary brake tubes (2) at the ICU hydraulic control unit. Tighten the tube nuts to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Install the hydraulic control unit cover (1).
Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, INSTALLATION .
Remove brake pedal holding tool.

Connect negative battery cable (1) on negative battery post.
Install the battery access cover.

Hook up the scan tool to initialize the ABM and perform the following:
1. Clear any faults.
2. Fill the master cylinder to the proper fill level and bleed the base and ABS hydraulic systems. Refer to BLEEDING .
3. Check for leaks.
4. Perform the ABS Verification Test and road test the vehicle. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
