Sensor, Wheel Speed, Front: Installation
- Apply bearing grease (supplied with part) to sensor head shaft and O-ring.CAUTION:
Ensure that sensor mounting surface on bearing is clean before sensor installation.
- Push wheel speed sensor head into mounting hole in hub and bearing and align mounting screw hole.
- Install NEW mounting screw (3). Tighten the mounting screw to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Attach wheel speed sensor routing (2) to the mounting bracket (1) on strut assembly.
- Clip wheel speed sensor routing (1) to the brackets on the frame rail.
- Connect vehicle wiring harness to wheel speed sensor connector.
- Install the front inner splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, INSTALLATION .
- Verify that wheel speed sensor cable is properly routed and not coming into contact with rotor or other moving parts.
- Perform the Diagnostic Verification Test and clear any faults. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
