Pads, Brake, Front: Removal

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to CAUTION . Refer to WARNING .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the wheel mounting bolts, then the tire and wheel assembly.

  3. Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor harness connector (1) and remove the connector from the harness bracket (2).

  4. Remove the caliper guide pin dust covers (3, 1).

  5. Remove the two brake caliper guide pin bolts (1).
  6. Remove the disc brake caliper (2) from the disc brake adapter bracket and hang it out of the way using wire or a bungee cord. Use care not to overextend the brake hose when doing this.
  7. Remove the brake pads from the caliper adapter bracket.
