Hoses And Tubes, Washer: Description

The washer plumbing consists of small diameter rubber hose (3) or hard plastic tubing that is routed from the washer reservoir located on the right side of the engine compartment on top of the right front wheel house behind the right front combination lamp unit to the two washer nozzles mounted in the cowl plenum cover/grille panels at the base of the windshield. The supply hose is attached to the outlet nipple of the washer pump/motor unit near the bottom of the inboard side of the reservoir.

The supply hose is routed from the washer pump to the wye fitting and check valve unit on the underside of the right cowl plenum cover/grille panel (2). From the wye fitting and check valve unit, two nozzle hoses are routed along the underside of the cowl plenum cover/grille panel to the two washer nozzles, one in each of the two halves of the cowl plenum cover/grille panel. Several routing clips (1) on the underside of the cowl plenum cover/grille panels secure the hoses in place.

Washer hose or tube is available for service only as roll stock, which must then be cut to length. The molded plastic and rubber washer hose fittings cannot be repaired. If these fittings are ineffective or damaged, they must be replaced.
