Arm, Wiper: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- For the left wiper arm only, remove the molding above the left front combination lamp unit
Refer to BEZEL, HEADLAMP UPPER, REMOVAL .
- Lift the wiper arm (1) to its over-center position to hold the wiper blade off of the glass and relieve the spring tension on the wiper arm to pivot shaft connection.
- Carefully pry the plastic nut cap (2) off of the nut on the pivot end of the wiper arm.
- Remove the nut (2) and washer that secures the wiper arm (1) to the wiper pivot shaft.CAUTION:
The use of a battery terminal puller when removing the wiper arm is NOT recommended as this may damage the wiper arm.
- Use a slight rocking motion to disengage the wiper arm (2) pivot end from the pivot shaft.
- Remove the wiper arm and wiper blade (1) from the vehicle as a unit.
