Diagnostic Test
- INSPECT THE ACC MODULE NOTE:
The Radar Sensor operating temperature is between 80 and 200 deg C. Verify that the sensor is within the specified range before continuing.
- With the scan tool, read Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Inspect the ACC Module for anything that would obstruct or interfere with the operation of the Radar Sensor.
- Dirt, mud, ice, snow or any debris that would obstruct the Radar Sensor.
- Damage to the ACC Module, Radar Sensor or mounting area that would prevent proper operation.
- Misalignment of the ACC module.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary. Erase the DTC(s) and verify proper operation of the ACC system.
- Perform the ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK RELATED WIRING AND HARNESS CONNECTIONS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Check the related component and module power supply and ground circuits.
- Disconnect the ACC Module harness connector(s).
- Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
- Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
- Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
Repair any conditions that are found.
- Reconnect all harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all related component harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded information along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle within the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read ACC DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace and program the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test complete.
