Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
    3. Turn the Front Wiper on low speed.
    4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE WIPER MOTOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Front Wiper Motor harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
    5. Turn the Front Wiper on low speed.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Replace the Front Wiper Motor in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  3. CHECK THE (W3) WIPER LOW SPEED CONTROL OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
    3. Check for continuity between ground and the (W3) Wiper Low Speed Control Output circuit.

      Is there continuity between ground and the (W3) Wiper Low Speed Control Output circuit?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (W3) Wiper Low Speed Control Output circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE (W3) WIPER LOW SPEED CONTROL OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Measure the resistance of the (W3) Wiper Low Speed Control Output circuit between the Front Wiper Motor harness connector and the BCM C4 harness connector.

      Is the resistance above 3.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the open in the (W3) Wiper Low Speed Control Output circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No
