Muffler, Exhaust: Removal

NOTE:
Never allow the muffler assembly to hang from the isolators. Muffler assembly removal is a two-person operation to avoid damage to the isolators or to the muffler assembly.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Support the exhaust system using a suitable jack.
- Saturate the bolts and nuts (2) with Mopar® Rust Inhibitor. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
- Remove the left hand resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, EXHAUST, REMOVAL .
- Remove the right hand exhaust tip. Refer to RESONATOR, EXHAUST, REMOVAL
.
- Remove the catalytic converter exhaust pipe nut and spring assembly (1) from the muffler assembly flange (2).
- Remove the exhaust isolators () and the muffler assembly (2) from vehicle.
