Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
  Is the DTC active or pending?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the INTERMITTENT DTC diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
BANK 1 MAP SENSOR
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Bank 1 MAP Sensor harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With a scan tool, read DTCs.
  NOTE:
  The P007D-CHARGE AIR COOLER TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH DTC should be active or pending with the Bank 1 Sensor harness connector unplugged.
  
  Does the scan tool display as described above?
  
  Yes
  - Verify that there is good pin to terminal contact in the Bank 1 MAP Sensor and Powertrain Control Module connectors. Replace the Bank 1 MAP Sensor if no problems were found in the connectors.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECK THE (K46) BANK 1 TEMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
3. Check for continuity between ground and the (K46) Bank 1 Temp Signal circuit at the Bank 1 MAP Sensor harness connector.
  Is there continuity between ground and the (K46) Bank 1 Temp Signal circuit?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (K46) Bank 1 Temp Signal circuit for a short to ground.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 4
CHECK FOR THE (K46) BANK 1 TEMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (K915) SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Check for continuity between the (K46) Bank 1 Temp Signal circuit and the (K915) Sensor Ground circuit in the Bank 1 MAP Sensor harness connector.
  Is there continuity between the (K46) Bank 1 Temp Signal circuit and the (K915) Sensor Ground circuit?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (K46) Bank 1 Temp Signal circuit for a short to the (K915) Sensor Ground circuit.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 5
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
1. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors between the Bank 1 MAP Sensor and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
2. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
3. Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals.
4. Monitor the scan tool data relative to this circuit and wiggle test the wiring and connectors.
5. Look for the data to change or for the DTC to reset during the wiggle test.
6. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
  Were any problems found?
  
  Yes
  - Repair as necessary.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), REMOVAL .
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
