Belt, Drive: Removal

DESIGN 1 

1. Partially remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .

2. Release the belt tension by rotating the tensioner (1) clockwise  . Rotate the belt tensioner until the belt (2) can be removed from pulleys.
3. Remove the belt.
4. Gently release the tensioner.

DESIGN 2 

1. Partially remove the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .

2. Rotate the belt tensioner clockwise  using the hex (1) on the belt tensioner and remove the drive belt.
   NOTE:

   Once the belt tensioner has rotated to the stop, do not continue to increase torque or damage to the belt tensioner could occur.

   NOTE:

   Do not use the bolt on the tensioner pulley (3) to rotate the belt tensioner.

3. Gently release the tensioner.
