Right Side Exhaust Manifold

  1. Clean the sealing surfaces of the exhaust manifold and cylinder head.

  2. Using a NEW  exhaust manifold gasket (1), position the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.

  3. First install the NEW  exhaust manifold retaining bolts finger tight.
  4. Using the sequence shown, tighten the retaining bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  5. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield and tighten the fasteners (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  6. Reposition the oil level indicator tube and tighten the retaining nut (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  7. Install the right side engine mount heat shield and tighten the fasteners (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  8. Connect the ground strap at the right side engine mount.
  9. Install the generator. Refer to GENERATOR, INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the right side ignition coils. Refer to COIL, IGNITION, INSTALLATION .
  11. Install the Power Distribution Center (PDC) and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Refer to CENTER, POWER DISTRIBUTION (PDC), INSTALLATION .
  12. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, INSTALLATION .
  13. Install the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
  14. Connect the negative battery cable.
  15. Start the engine and check for leaks.
