Diagnostic Test

CHECK PCM FOR ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR OR FIVE VOLT SUPPLY DTCS
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
  Are there any APP or 5 volt supply DTCs set in the PCM?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the APP or 5 volt supply DTC diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX (5.7L) .
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
NOTE:
This DTC is set when the APP Sensor values are learned in-plant but do not reach the minimum or maximum voltage range.

Is the DTC active or pending?

Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC AFTER PERFORMING THE ETC RELEARN FUNCTION
1. With a scan tool perform the ETC RELEARN function.
2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
3. Start the engine.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Is the DTC active or pending?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the APP Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION, REMOVAL . After installation is complete, perform the ETC RELEARN function.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Test Complete.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
