Exhaust Manifolds

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (1).

  2. Remove the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVAL  .

    NOTE:

    The studs (1) are stainless steel and must be installed in the same location as removed.

  3. Remove the exhaust manifold (2) heat shields.
  4. Remove the upper stainless steel studs (1).
  5. Remove the upper bolts (3).

  6. Remove the exhaust manifold bottom row of bolts (3) and the tie bars (2).
  7. Discard the exhaust gasket.
