Handle, Exterior: Removal

  1. With liftgate unlatched, disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the trim panel (1) from the inside of the liftgate. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, REMOVAL .

  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3, 5) at the latch (4).
  4. Disconnect actuator cable (2) from exterior handle.

  5. Reach through the clearance hole in the inside of the liftgate panel on each side of the latch, to access and remove the two nuts (2) that secure the handle (1) to the liftgate.

  6. Remove the handle (2) from the liftgate (1).
