Vehicles equipped with the Premium Sound package or Harman Kardon® Sound package have a separate amplifier unit (1). The Premium Sound amplifier is rated at 506 watts. The Harman Kardon® Sound amplifier is rated at 825 watts. The amplifier for either system is secured by four screws to a bracket (2) that is mounted to the left rear quarter panel behind the quarter trim panel. Three integral connector receptacles connect the amplifier to the vehicle electrical system through dedicated take outs and connectors of the body wire harness (3).
SRT models and models equipped with the Tow-N-Go package (AAN) incorporate an Active Noise Control system into the amplifier. The active noise control system includes four microphones located in the headliner; one above each front row seat (1), one above the second row seats (2) and one above the third row seats (3). The second and third row microphones are situated on the center line of the headliner.
The amplifier cannot be adjusted or repaired. If damaged or ineffective, the amplifier must be replaced.
