Sensor, Park Assist: Removal
NOTE:
The park assist sensors (1) and the resilient sensor spacers (2) (also known as decoupling rings or O-rings) are each available for separate service replacement. The sensor brackets (3) are bonded to and integral to the back side of the rear bumper fascia (4).
- Disconnect and isolate the negative cable from the battery.NOTE:
The two inboard sensors can be accessed from the back of the fascia without removing the fascia from the vehicle. If the vehicle has an exhaust tailpipe on the same side as an outboard sensor requiring service, the rear fascia requires removal to access that outboard sensor.
- If necessary, remove the bumper fascia from the rear of the vehicle. Refer to FASCIA, REAR, REMOVAL .
- From the back of the fascia (4), disconnect the wire harness connector from the park assist sensor (1) connector receptacle.
- Carefully pry the sensor bracket (3) latch features away from the latch tabs of the sensor far enough to disengage the sensor from the bracket.
- Disengage the resilient O-ring spacer (2) from around the circumference of the sensor membrane protrusion.
