Valve, Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION (EGR): Installation

  1. Install a NEW  gasket onto the EGR valve.
  2. Install the EGR valve.

  3. Position the EGR cooler tube bracket (2) on the studs (1). Install the EGR cooler tube bracket nuts and tighten. Refer to EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Tighten the nuts (1) to the proper torque specfications. Refer to EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  5. Connect the EGR cooler hose (1) to the EGR valve and secure the clamp.
  6. Connect the EGR valve wire harness connector.
  7. Install the EGR cooler tube bracket.
  8. Install the EGR cooler tube bracket fasteners and tighten to the proper torque specfications. Refer to EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
