Cooler, Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION (EGR): Installation

  1. Clean the gasket mating surfaces.

  2. Using a NEW  gasket, install the EGR cooler and tighten the inlet flange bolts (1) to the proper torque specfications. Refer to EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  3. Install the lower bolts (1) securing the EGR cooler and tighten to the proper torque specfications. Refer to EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Install the outlet coolant hose (3) to the EGR cooler.
  5. Install the inlet from pressurized coolant bottle hose (2), to the EGR cooler.

  6. Install the EGR inlet tube (2) to the EGR cooler (1).

  7. Connect the EGR temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).
  8. Install the generator. Refer to 3.6L .
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION
  10. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
