VVL Solenoid Oil Pressure Test

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the Variable Valve Lift (VVL) Solenoid(s). Refer to SOLENOID, VARIABLE VALVE LIFT, REMOVAL .
  2. Install the VVL oil pressure test adapters (special tool #2027300090, Kit, VVL Adapters) as indicated in the video.
  3. If removed, install the upper intake manifold. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION 
  4. Start and idle the engine. If oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off the engine and consult the Engine Lubrication and Diagnostic Table. Refer to ENGINE LUBRICATION DIAGNOSTIC TABLE  .
  5. Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
  6. Verify that the engine has acceptable oil pressure. Refer to ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS  .
