Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With a scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
Are there any CAN B and C communication DTCs active or pending?
Yes
- Perform the applicable diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to 3.6L - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 3
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
- CHECK FOR ORC COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCS IN OTHER MODULES
- With the scan tool, select Network Diagnostics.
Is there more than one module with active DTCs "Logged Against" the ORC at this time?
Yes
- Replace and program the Occupant Restrain Controller (ORC) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the ORC VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
No
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, select Network Diagnostics.
