Manifold, Intake: Installation: Lower

  1. Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces, the gaskets may be reused if no issues are found. Install the lower intake manifold to cylinder head gaskets.

  2. Position the lower intake manifold on the cylinder head surfaces.
  3. Tighten the bolts to the proper in the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Install the fuel injectors and the fuel rail to the lower intake manifold. Tighten the bolts (1) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  5. Position the wire harness (2) and connect the fuel injector wire harness connectors (1).
  6. Engage the engine harness retaining clips into the rear of the lower intake manifold.
  7. Position and secure the wire harness trough to the rear of the cylinder heads.

  8. Connect the fuel supply hose (1) to the fuel rail. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - QUICK-CONNECT FITTINGS .

  9. Install the insulator (1) on top of the right cylinder head cover.
  10. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION .
  11. Install the cowl extension silencer. Refer to SILENCER, COWL EXTENSION, INSTALLATION .
  12. Start the engine and check for leaks.
