Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- CHECK THE RIGHT REAR HEATED SEAT SWITCH AND WIRING
- Turn the ignition off.
- Visually and physically inspect the wiring harness between the Right Rear Heated Seat Switch harness connector and the Heated Seat Module (HSM) harness connector. Check for any damaged wires, connectors, and open or spread terminals.
- Check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- If no problems are found, replace the Right Rear Heated Seat Switch in accordance with the Service Information. Once the switch has been replaced, press it twice to initialize it. If problem still persists, replace the Heated Seat Module (HSM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, HEATED SEAT, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE WIRING AND CONNECTORS
- The conditions necessary to set the DTC are not present at this time.
- Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this circuit. Wiggle the wiring and connectors while checking for shorted and open circuits.
- Check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- With the scan tool, check for any Environmental Data to help identify the conditions in which the DTC was set.
- Check for any Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
