Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
    3. Block the Light Sensor in the Interior Rearview Mirror.
    4. Shift the transmission to Drive (engine not running)
    5. Wait two minutes.
    6. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.

      Is this DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension and repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE (P137) PASSENGER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.
    3. Check for continuity between ground and the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal at the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.

      Is there continuity between ground and the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal?

      Yes 

      • Repair the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE (P137) PASSENGER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (P138) PASSENGER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR RETURN CIRCUIT 
    1. Check for continuity between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and the (P138) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Return circuit at the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.

      Is there continuity between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and the (P138) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Return circuit?

      Yes 

      • Repair the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit for a short to the (P138) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Return circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE (P137) PASSENGER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO ANOTHER CIRCUIT 
    1. Check for continuity between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and another circuit in the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.

      Is there continuity between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and another circuit?

      Yes 

      • Repair the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit for a short to another circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No
