Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Dodge Durango. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The pedestrian protection impact sensors perform their own self test using power supplied by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) then communicate this status back to the ORC module with periodic updates. The repair of this fault condition involves verifying the integrity of the wiring between the ORC module and the sensor. For ORC module Description information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER, DESCRIPTION . For ORC module Operation information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER, OPERATION .
