Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Dodge Durango. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Pedestrian Protection Satellite Sensors perform internal self-tests and communicate the sensors status using power supplied by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). The sensor communicates this internal failure message using the sensor signal circuit. If the scan tool shows this DTC has a Stored history of setting then the PPS Sensor is to be replaced.
