Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Turn the Headlamp Washer on.
    3. With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.

      Is the DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE HEADLAMP WASHER RELAY 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Remove the Headlamp Washer relay from the Front Power Distribution Center (PDC) and substitute it with a known good relay.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Turn the Headlamp Washer on.
    5. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

      Is the DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

  3. CHECK THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Remove the Headlamp Washer relay from the Front PDC.
    3. Disconnect the BCM C4/D harness connector.
    4. Check for continuity between ground and the (W24) Fused Run Relay Output circuit at the BCM C4/D harness connector.

      Is there continuity between ground and the (W24) Fused Run Relay Output circuit?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

  4. CHECK THE (W24) FUSED RUN RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Disconnect the Front PDC C2 harness connector.
    2. Check for continuity between ground and the (W24) Fused Run Relay Output circuit at the BCM C4/D harness connector.

      Is there continuity between ground and the (W24) Fused Run Relay Output circuit?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (W24) Fused Run Relay Output circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Check the Front PDC connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, replace the Front Power Distribution Center (PDC) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to CENTER, POWER DISTRIBUTION (PDC), REMOVAL .
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
