Diagnostic Test

  1. VERIFY IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE 
    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. With the scan tool, erase Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) DTCs.
    3. Cycle the ignition switch from off to on.
    4. With the scan tool, read AHLM DTCs.

      Is this DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension and repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE AHLM FOR PROPER CONFIGURATION 
    1. With the scan tool, perform the Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) Calibration Procedure.
    2. With the scan tool, erase Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) DTCs.
    3. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
    4. With the scan tool, read AHLM DTCs.

      Does this DTC reset?

      Yes 

      • Verify that the proper Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is stored in the PCM and BCM. Check for any Service Bulletins that may apply. If no problems are found, replace and program the Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Test Complete.
