Diagnostic Test

- CHECK IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE
- CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Right Front Headlamp Assembly harness connector.
- Disconnect the Left Front Headlamp Assembly harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage of the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit.
Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
- Measure the resistance of the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit between the Right Front Headlamp Assembly harness connector and the Left Front Headlamp Assembly harness connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, HEADLAMP LEVELING, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit between the Right Front Headlamp Assembly harness connector and the Left Front Headlamp Assembly harness connector.
- CHECK THE WIRING AND CONNECTORS
- The conditions necessary to set the DTC are not present at this time.
- Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this module. Wiggle the wiring and connectors while checking for shorted and open circuits.
- Check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Check Service Bulletins for any possible causes that may apply.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
