Motor, Wiper: Removal: Rear

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- From the outside of the liftgate glass (4), remove the rear wiper arm (2) from the rear wiper motor output shaft (5). Refer to ARM, WIPER, REMOVAL .
- From the inside of the liftgate (1), remove the trim from the liftgate inner panel. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the liftgate wire harness connector (5) from the rear wiper motor (2) connector receptacle.
- Remove the three screws (3) that secure the damper (4) and the motor mounting bracket to the liftgate inner panel.
- Remove the cast metal damper weight from over the rear wiper motor.
- Carefully slide the rear wiper motor output shaft and housing out of the bezel and grommet installed in the clearance hole of the liftgate glass.
- From the outside of the liftgate, remove the output shaft bezel and grommet from the clearance hole in the liftgate glass and discard.
