Motor, Wiper: Installation: Rear

From the outside of the liftgate, install a new rubber bezel and grommet (3) into the rear wiper motor output shaft clearance hole of the liftgate glass (4). Always use a new bezel and grommet in the glass.

From the inside of the liftgate (1), position the rear wiper motor (2) output shaft and housing through the bezel and grommet in the liftgate glass clearance hole.
Position the rear wiper motor mounting bracket to the liftgate inner panel.
Position the cast metal damper (4) to the rear wiper motor mounting bracket.
Install and tighten the three screws (3) that secure the damper and the motor mounting bracket to the liftgate inner panel. Tighten the screws securely.
Connect the liftgate wire harness connector (5) to the rear wiper motor connector receptacle.
Install the trim onto the liftgate inner panel. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, INSTALLATION .
From the outside of the liftgate, install the rear wiper arm onto the motor output shaft. Refer to ARM, WIPER, INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
