Diagnostic Test

  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Cycle the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    3. Cycle the ignition from on to off three times.
    4. Cycle the ignition on.
    5. Wait one minute.
    6. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display: B285F-11-BLIND SPOT WARNING LIGHT CONTROL - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND as Active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Check to see if the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all relate splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. Repair as necessary.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. INSPECT MIRROR CONNECTIONS 
    1. Cycle the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Driver Door Module C1 harness connector.
    3. Inspect the wiring and connectors between the mirror and the Drivers Door Module.

      Were there any problems found?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. MIRROR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Cycle the ignition on
    2. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    3. Cycle the ignition from on to off three times.
    4. Cycle the ignition on.
    5. Make sure the DDM C1 harness connector is still disconnected.
    6. Wait one minute.
      NOTE:

      Look for a change in DTCs.

    7. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display: B285F-15-BLIND SPOT WARNING LIGHT CONTROL - CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY OR OPEN as Active?

      Yes  

      No
