The purpose of the monitoring is to detect a failure in the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) system. The TCC is used to bypass the torque converter. The TCC can be open, closed or in closed loop control mode where a specific clutch slip is controlled. The actual slip and the target slip are compared to detect a failure.
