Diagnostic Test
- VERIFY ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
The use of a approved special tool or Digital Multimeter such as a Fluke Meter that will not apply more than 20 milliamperes to a circuit are the only measurement tools to be used.
NOTE:Probing of the circuit cavities at the ORC Module C1-A, C1-B, or C2-A body harness connectors is only to be done with a approved test lead from the (special tool #10159, Test Leads, Dedicated), test lead 10159-6 or the use of Breakout Box 8443-55 to prevent vehicle wiring harness connector damage during diagnostic procedures.
NOTE:Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read ORC DTC.
Does the scan tool display active B0050-13-DRIVER SEATBELT BUCKLE SENSOR - CIRCUIT OPEN DTC?
Yes

No
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST .
- (R57) DRIVER SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT AND (R59) DRIVER SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN WARNING:
Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Disconnect the Driver Seat Belt Buckle Switch harness connector.
- Disconnect the ORC harness connectors.NOTE:
Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.
- Connect the test leads to the DVOM.
- Measure the resistance of the (R57) Driver Seat Belt Buckle Switch Sense circuit between the Driver Seat Belt Buckle Switch harness connector cavity 1 and the ORC module body harness connector cavity C1-B 73.
- Measure the resistance of the (R59) Driver Seat Belt Buckle Switch Ground circuit between the Driver Seat Belt Buckle Switch harness connector cavity 2 and the ORC module body harness connector cavity C1-B 74.
Is the resistance greater than 1.0 Ohm on any of these circuits?
Yes
