  1. Remove halfshaft. Refer to REMOVAL .
  2. Using seal remover (special tool #7794-A, Remover, Seal) (1) and slide hammer (special tool #C-637, Slide Hammer, Universal), remove axle shaft seal (2).
  3. Visually inspect halfshaft seal journal for damage (excessive seal groove, nicks, scratches, etc.). Replace halfshaft if necessary.
