Checking Engine Oil Pressure

- Remove the oil filter and cap. Refer to FILTER, ENGINE OIL, REMOVAL .
- Transfer the oil filter to the (special tool #2021500090, Adapter, Late Version 3.6L Oil Pressure Test).
- Install Pressure Gauge (special tool #C-3292A, Gauge, Pressure) (1) to the Oil Pressure Test Adapter.
- Install the Oil Pressure Test Adapter to the engine and securely tighten.
- Start and idle the engine. If oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off the engine and consult the Engine Lubrication and Diagnostic Table. Refer to ENGINE LUBRICATION DIAGNOSTIC TABLE .
- Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
- Verify that the engine has acceptable oil pressure. Refer to ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS .
