Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL).
- With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE LEFT FRONT LAMP ASSEMBLY
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Left Front Lamp Assembly harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL).
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Left Front Daytime Running Lamp Bulb in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (L58) LEFT DRL LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the BCM D harness connector.
- Check for continuity between ground and the (L58) Left DRL Lamp Driver circuit at the Left Front Lamp Assembly harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the (L58) Left DRL Lamp Driver circuit?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the short to ground in the (L58) Left DRL Lamp Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
