Diagnostic Test
- WITH THE SCAN TOOL CHECK FOR CAN BUS COMMUNICATION DTCS.
Are there any CAN BUS COMMUNICATION DTCS present?
Yes
- Check CAN Bus Communication lines for possible open or short. Repair the Wiring harness in accordance to the Service Information. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING . Recheck the Scan tool, If DTC U142A IMPLAUSIBLE PRNDL SIGNAL RECEIVED is active or any CAN BUS DTCS are active. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
- Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST.
NOTE:Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.
No
- Check that the transmitting ECU (powertrain control module or transmission controller) is communicating. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the RESTRAINT SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. With the Scan Tool recheck for communication from the specific module or modules. If communication is Inactive, refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING and perform the Non-DTC Diagnostics/Communication procedure.
