Pass Airbag Off Indicator: Description

The Passenger Airbag OFF Indicator is part of the instrument cluster gauge pack. The indicator uses a single integral amber Light Emitting Diode (LED) and is not serviceable. The indicator is controlled by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) based on the position of the passenger airbag ON/OFF switch, located in the center console storage bin. See the vehicles owner's manual in the vehicle glove box for specific recommendations on when to enable or disable the passenger airbag. The passenger airbag ON/OFF switch allows the customer to turn the passenger airbag function ON or OFF to accommodate certain uses of the right front seating position. The lamp is visible to both occupants, the lamp is illuminated whenever the passenger airbag ON/OFF switch is set to the "OFF" switch position or whenever the ORC has a fault that would dictate illuminating the passenger airbag ON/OFF switch lamp.
